Non-profits feed, heal, shelter, educate, inspire, enlighten, and nurture people of every age, gender, race, and socioeconomic status.  Non-profits foster civic engagement and leadership, drive economic growth and help strengthen the fabric of our communities.  To make the greatest impact, non-profits need help.  They need businesses and solopreneurs like YOU that are positioned to meet their needs.

Michelle Nusum-Smith is owner and principal consultant at The Word Woman LLC. A consultant, coach and trainer, Michelle uses knowledge and skills developed over her more than 20 years in the nonprofit sector to help nonprofits, government agencies, and individuals develop the skills, knowledge and resources to achieve their mission. She is licensed to offer consulting services for Maryland Nonprofit’s Standards for Excellence® Institute and has the knowledge, skills and tools necessary to work with nonprofits across the country. A graduate of the Honors Program at Coppin State University where she earned a BS in Management Science, Michelle is also an Associate Consultant at Maryland Nonprofits Consulting Group. She resides in Frederick and is actively involved in numerous charities and community activities.
