Community Involvement

Community Involvement

Welcome to WBN’s Community Involvement page!

The goal of our WBN community involvement is two-fold:

1) To increase our involvement and have a greater impact as an organization.

2) To present meaningful and rewarding opportunities to our members.

Currently, we are recruiting membership involvement for:

Distinguished Young Women Frederick

Distinguished Young Women of Frederick County is part of a national scholarship program that promotes and rewards scholarship, leadership and talent in young women. Nicole Orr, who heads up this program, spoke at our last meeting, along with one of the participants. The program will be held on March 16, 2019 at Tuscarora High School.  They still have a number of volunteer opportunities leading up to and after the 4 pm. Visit https://www.signupgenius.com/go/70a0f4ea8aa238-2019 to see the volunteer possibilities and to sign up.

Do you have information about a volunteer opportunity that you think our members would be interested in? Please send the information for review to Diane DeMarco at Diane@DianeDeMarcoMarketing.com

Goodwill of Monocacy Valley Second Runway and 50th Anniversary

This was the fashion event of the season! SECOND RUNWAY featured a red carpet entrance, an on-site Goodwill Pop-Up Shop, a chance to bid on fabulous auction items, gourmet food and spirits from local businesses, music, and a high energy runway fashion show, including models and stylists with “familiar” faces from the community

This year’s theme, the Golden Gala, celebrated Goodwill’s 50 years of service to Frederick and Carroll Counties, and raised funds for their new Veteran Services Program and relocation of their workforce development center.

Thank you so much to those who volunteered and attended!
